While vaccination campaigns continue worldwide against the new type of corona virus epidemic, vaccination has started in Palestine. The first dose of the Kovid-19 vaccine was administered to President Mahmud Abbas in Palestine, which received the first vaccine delivery from the Global Access Program for Kovid-19 Vaccines (COVAX), led by the World Health Organization (WHO), on March 17. Abbas urged the Palestinian people to continue to comply with public safety protocols and vaccination instructions from the Palestinian Ministry of Health to go through this difficult period.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the vaccination campaign was launched earlier today, and announced that healthcare professionals, cancer and kidney failure patients and the elderly over 75 years of age will be given priority. In the statement made by the Ministry of Health, it was stated that 38 thousand doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine were supplied in addition to 24 thousand AstraZeneca vaccine as part of the COVAX shipment.
