If Beşiktaş cannot prove that it has not committed financial violations, 15 percent of the UEFA revenue will be confiscated in the 2021-22 season.
In the statement made by UEFA, it was stated that as a result of the decision of the judicial unit of the Club Financial Control Board (CFCB), the black and white team committed a financial violation after the agreement phase with Beşiktaş within the framework of the Financial Fair Play (FFP).
It was announced that Beşiktaş will seize 15 percent of the revenue it will earn from UEFA organizations in the 2021-22 season due to the failure of the payment to be made on September 30, 2020.
In the statement, it was also emphasized that if the black-and-white team provides evidence that the payment was made on time by June 30, the said penalty will be lifted.
KAP statement from the club is as follows:
According to the decision notified to our Company by the UEFA CFCB Adjudicatory Chamber (UEFA Club Financial Control Board – Judicial Commission); Our company does not fulfill the provisions of the UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulation on overdue debts within the relevant periods, therefore, 15% of our 2021/2022 UEFA revenues will be confiscated, but we have removed our overdue debts determined as of 30.09.2020 until 30.06.2021. In this case, it has been reported that the relevant sanction will not be applied.
The legal process regarding our claim that the aforementioned debts are not overdue debt as stated in the decision continues.
In addition, as stated in the decision, the decision has not been finalized yet and we have the right to go to CAS. Our evaluations on the subject continue.
