Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter and former FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke were on trial, particularly for bonus extra payouts related to FIFA tournaments paid to senior FIFA management officials, various changes and extensions of their employment contracts.
THEY WILL PAY 1 MILLION SWISS FRANC
Former FIFA president and general secretary were banned from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or other) at national and international level for a period of six years and eight months for their irregularities. In addition, Blatter and Valcke were fined 1 million Swiss francs.
Since Blatter and Valcke, who were sentenced by the Ethics Committee in 2015 and 2016, have not yet expired, the new bans will be valid after the previous ones are over.
As will be remembered, British comedian Lee Nelson threw a wad of money into Blatter’s face years ago on corruption charges.
