The Constitutional Court (AYM) General Assembly, Anadolu Kültür A.Ş. Osman Kavala had previously applied to the Constitutional Court with the allegation that ‘the right to liberty and security of the person was violated because the detention was not legal’.
The First Section of the Constitutional Court decided to refer the application to the General Assembly at its agenda on December 15.
The General Assembly of the Constitutional Court discussed Osman Kavala’s individual application at the agenda meeting held in December last year.
The General Assembly decided that Kavala’s right to liberty and security as guaranteed in Article 19 of the Constitution was not violated. It was learned that the decision was taken with the majority of 8 members against 7 members.
