The fact that the cliffs in Antalya will be illuminated by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality attracted the reaction of scientists and nature lovers.
While nature lovers make a “pavilion analogy” to the lighting of the cliffs, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek responded to the reactions through Hürriyet and said, “The critics do not know the details of the project. We thought of everything so that the cliffs and the animals living there were not harmed. We take into account every opinion that experts provide us. Anyway, if we hadn’t taken it into consideration, the authorized institutions would not have approved the project ”.
EVERY DETAIL HAS BEEN PROCESSED
Stating that precise measurements were made by experts before the project was prepared, Böcek said, “The lights are arranged in a way that does not both visually strain the eye and harm the nature. Every detail, from the color of the projectors to the voltage, from the effect on animals, to which direction the light is facing and its location, has been processed into the project. The company, which won the lighting tender, is setting up the infrastructure using the latest technology electrical equipment.
It was said ‘it was like a pavilion’! New proposal came instead
ALLOW FROM THE PROTECTION BOARD
Stating that the necessary permissions were obtained from all relevant institutions, Mayor Böcek said, “The officials of the General Directorate of Protection of Natural Assets made an examination in the region and the project was approved the previous day. The members of the Regional Protection Board will review again when the first stage is completed. If an application other than the promised one is seen in the project, it will be requested to be corrected. If the first stage is approved, we will move on to the second stage and complete it in the same way ”.
THE COST OF THE PROJECT IS 10 MILLION
Böcek said: “Since the Falezler Specially Protected Area are areas of site status, only nature-friendly projects are allowed. After very meticulous reviews with a study similar to the EIA report, this project was approved. We started working after obtaining legal permissions. We will beautify our city with a project that is compatible with nature. A brilliant image that suits Antalya will appear on the cliffs. The value of the 2-stage project is around 10 million liras. ”
IT WILL BE APPLIED IN TWO STAGES
In the first stage of the illumination project of the Metropolitan Municipality with a bird flight of 1000 meters, a lighting system will be installed in Yavuz Özcan Park, Yacht Harbor, Karaalioğlu Park and then on the cliff band of Atatürk Park. The second stage will cover an area of approximately 650 meters in the Marina and approximately 1750 meters in the cliffs of Atatürk Park.
